The International Society for Industrial Ecology invites you to the 11th International Conference on Industrial Ecology (ISIE2023). This conference will be held in Leiden, the Netherlands from 2 to 5 July 2023. This conference connects professionals, academics and students all over the world to share ideas, insights and innovative technologies and methods. We invite you to get inspired, to participate in discussions and to share your ideas.
Theme: Transitions in a world in turmoil
The way we use energy and resources in our present system is not sustainable. Major changes are necessary in our energy system to make it climate-neutral. At the same time our use of land, water and material resources needs to change dramatically to become sustainable. To avoid further deterioration of nature and our environment and resource supply constraints we must move toward a circular economy, while at the same time ensuring equitable transitions.
We will invite contributions on all aspects of these transitions: society’s use of resources and energy, technology and consumption-oriented solutions, organizational and business-related aspects, changes in our economic system, and policy and governance. A preliminary call for abstracts will be send out in November 2022 and the final call will be sent out in January 2023.
Although we are aware that Covid-19 is still here we aim to organize a live conference in July 2023. Keep an eye on the conference website. In whatever form, we will make this a memorable conference and we are looking forward to a lively discussion on matters of great importance.
